Higuain ready for test

Real Madrid's latest striker Gonzalo Higuain insists he is up to the challenge.

Real Madrid's latest striker Gonzalo Higuain could play his first game for the club next weekend, and is not concerned about the competition with Antonio Cassano.

Higuain would prefer to leave the decisions of picking the team to the coach and insists Cassano, who has fallen out-of-favour with Fabio Capello, is not on his mind.

The former River Plate man is concentrating all his efforts on playing well for Madrid and believes he is ready for the challenge.

"If the coach considers that next weekend is the moment for me to play then I am ready for the test.

"I don't want to talk about what might happen with Cassano because I don't want to have problems.

"The coach must have reasons for not including him in the team at the moment. I feel that I am given the same consideration as all my team-mates.

"If Cassano is in the team or not it doesn't change anything for me."
