Sebo stays at Rangers

Filip Sebo's agent has claimed that Rangers failed in a bid to transfer him to Austria.

Filip Sebo's agent has claimed that Rangers failed in a bid to transfer the striker back to Austria Vienna.

Paul Le Guen signed the 22-year-old for £1.8million in August but he has scored just two goals for the Gers.

The Slovakian could have been the first of Le Guen's signings to follow the former manager out of the door after his departure on Thursday.

"Filip is unable to move anywhere else because he moved from Austria to Scotland in the last window and therefore Austria Vienna were the only other club he could have gone back to during the current window," agent Jurgen Werner told the Scottish Daily Express.

"We have spoken to Austria Vienna but they are unable to do a deal.

"They were interested in taking Filip back but they couldn't meet his financial terms so he will remain with Rangers until the summer - at least.

"Filip knows he will be staying at Rangers and he's quite happy with that.

"He has found it difficult but believes he can still have a future at the club and is looking to try and impress the new manager."
