Huth has no regrets
Middlesbrough defender Robert Huth says he has no regrets over leaving Chelsea.
Middlesbrough defender Robert Huth says he has no regrets over leaving Chelsea for Teesside. The Germany international defender left Stamford Bridge last August in a £6million to Gareth Southgate's side.
Huth found first-team opportunities hard to come by with the Premiership champions, although their current defensive crisis means he may have been given a chance by Jose Mourinho.
However, Huth does not believe he left Chelsea too soon and knows the time was right to leave the club he had been at since the age of 16.
"It had to come to an end," stated Huth. "I thought it would be good for both of us to move on.
"It was difficult to leave, but I had been there for six years. There were fantastic times, but I just felt it was time to move on and play more.
"I'm here and I'm focused. I'm a Middlesbrough player, I'm enjoying it and I've put Chelsea behind me."
Meanwhile, Huth has given Southgate an injury boost after returning to training following a spell out with a broken foot.
