Padula seals French switch

Former Nottingham Forest defender Gino Padula has signed for Montpellier.

Former Nottingham Forest defender Gino Padula has signed for Ligue 2 side Montpellier.

Padula finalised his released from his City Ground contract at the end of last week and has immediately agreed an 18-month deal with Montpellier.

The left-back made just one appearance for Forest this season - in his team's Carling Cup defeat to Accrington Stanley.

Padula was unable to have the same impact at Forest that he enjoyed at former club Queens Park Rangers.

The Argentinian made 81 appearances in three seasons at Rangers where he helped the club to promotion from League One in 2004.
