Six weeks out for de Vos
Ipswich Town will be without influential captain Jason De Vos for at least six weeks.
Ipswich Town will be without influential captain Jason de Vos for at least six weeks due to a metatarsal injury. The experienced defender broke a toe in training and will now see a specialist to ascertain the extent of the damage.
Town's head of sports science Dave Williams is hopeful de Vos will be out for six weeks, but has conceded it could be longer.
"We will know more when Jason sees a specialist but early indications are that we're looking at around six weeks out and it could be longer," he told the club's official website.
"He has broken the bone before and has a screw in it. It looks like he's cracked it this time but we will know more when we see the specialist.
"He will guide us on the recovery procedure but the way we see it at the moment, Jason will be out until the end of February and that's the minimum."
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has acted quickly to bolster his defensive options by recalling Ian Miller from his loan spell with Boston.
Boston tactician Steve Evans is hopeful of filling the void left by Miller: "Ian has been excellent for us and it's a blow to lose him.
"We have irons in the fire to replace Ian and hopefully we will see some progress on that front in the next day or two."
