Bristol City stunned Coventry and heaped pressure on manager Micky Adams with a 2-0 win in Tuesday's FA Cup third round replays.

Coventry were off-colour in front of a sparse Ricoh Arena crowd and the League One side capitalised when Enoch Showunmi crossed for Scott Murray to sidefoot home in the 39th minute.

Architect turned executioner nine minutes after half-time to put the tie beyond The Sky Blues - Lee Johnson robbed Andrew Wing and Showunmi rose above Robert Page to head home.

Wolverhampton Wanderers rode their luck to claim a 2-0 win over League One high-flyers Oldham and set-up a fourth round tie against fierce rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Plymouth put paid to managerless Peterborough's FA Cup dream with a 2-1 win at Home Park.

Against the early run of play, Aaron McLean, who scored in the first game between the sides, gave Peterborough the lead in the 13th minute, but a well-worked goal from Barry Hayles restored parity less than five minutes later.

David Norris completed the first-half turnaround in the 27th minute when he jinked through and squeezed a shot home and that proved sufficient for Ian Holloway's team to set up a tie with the victors of Wednesday's replay between Barnet and Colchester.

Ipswich dominated the first half against League Two Chester but, after a lull in their second-half performance, were grateful to Matt Richards's 84th minute strike in a 1-0 win.

Richards curled a long-range shot around goalkeeper John Danby to break City's plucky resistance and The Tractor Boys will now face Swansea at home next weekend.
