Kish: I'm still good enough

Radostin Kishishev is confident he still has the legs to aid Charlton's battle for survival.

Radostin Kishishev is confident he still has the legs to aid Charlton Athletic's battle for Premiership survival.

The experienced Bulgarian has not started the club's last two league matches as Alan Pardew looks to lift the team out of the relegation zone.

Kishishev, who has been at The Valley since 2000, has queried whether his contribution is still valued by Charlton fans.

He hopes people can overlook the stray passes to take note of the important role he can still play for The Addicks.

"I know I am getting older and older, and that the time is going to come when I will start to need a rest between matches," said Kishishev.

"But right now I feel my fitness levels are easily good enough to play game after game.

"I know there is a section of support that has been watching us every week for many years now and maybe they are ready for some new faces.

"But also I think sometimes you need to know the game very well to see the good things Kish does - everyone makes mistakes in games, not just Kish.

"It is easy for fans to see things like wrong passes because most eyes always follow the ball. However, it is more difficult to see things like the positions players take up to help out team-mates, the work that goes into tracking opposition runners and protecting the back four.

"Only football specialists can see the amount of work players such as myself do for the team, but maybe that type of work is not good enough any more, who knows?"
