Cardiff City have won the race to sign Iwan Redan on loan from Dutch side Willem II.The 26-year-old striker was told he was free to leave the club after head-butting team-mate Kristof Imschoot in a cup match against De Graafschap.
The player has since apologised through the club's website but the board told Redan he was no longer wanted at the club.
The Bluebirds however were beaten to the signature of Cecilio Lopes by Dutch outfit Heerenveen.
Lopes was the top goal-scorer at FC Dordrecht, scoring 20 goals in 25 matches this season, and was chased by a host of clubs including Watford and Derby.
But Heerenveen were first to sign the player, only to loan him immediately to their partners Sparta Rotterdam until the end of the season.
The Bluebirds are also reportedly interested in singing Newport County's teenage striker Matt Green.
