New coach Alex McLeish, who was only appointed on Monday, wasted little time in giving the youngster the chance to make the step up.

The ex-Rangers and Hibs boss has also recalled Steven Caldwell, Kevin McNaughton, Richard Hughes, Ian Murray and Steven Thompson.

The 30-man pool will meet on Sunday evening and have two days together that includes training sessions and meetings.

Everton's James McFadden and Andy Webster have both been included by McLeish despite being on the sidelines injured.
