Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg have signed Croatia international striker Ivica Olic from CSKA Moscow.
The 27-year-old completed the move to Germany after signing a contract through to June 2009 on Tuesday.
No details as to the fee involved have been released, but it is believed that Hamburg will have to pay around é¼2 million for his services.
"We are sure that Ivica will strengthen our team," said boss Thomas Doll.
"We have been watching him for some time now and we are sure that he will suit our system perfectly."
Olic, who played two Bundesliga matches for Hertha Berlin in the 1998/99 season, looks likely to make his debut in Wednesday's crucial home game against Energie Cottbus.
