Zambrotta happy at Barca
Gianluca Zambrotta is glad he joined Barcelona rather than Real Madrid.
Gianluca Zambrotta insists he made the right decision to join Barcelona rather than Real Madrid last summer.The Italian turned down the chance to join Real when he left Juventus after the World Cup, and has since struggled to adjust to life at Barca.
However, Zambrotta maintains that he is happy at Camp Nou and has learned a lot from his first six months with the Spanish champions.
"I am satisfied and each day I believe that my decision to reject Real Madrid's offer in the summer was correct," he told radio station RAC-1
"In all the aspects of life I am happy in Barcelona and I want to spend a lot of time here."
Barcelona were tipped to win La Liga at a canter this season but are currently only one point clear of Sevilla at the top, with a number of other clubs massing below them.
Zambrotta remains in confident mood though, saying: "We are up there and with the right mentality to go and win the title."
Barcelona face Liverpool in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League and Zambrotta knows his side will have to play their best to progress.
He remarked: "Liverpool are dangerous rivals but I believe that we are the favourites.
"My dream is to win the Champions League in Athens."
