Hatters to bag Blizzard

Stockport are set to bolster their squad with the addition of Watford's Dominic Blizzard.

Stockport County are set to bolster their squad with the addition of Watford midfielder Dominic Blizzard on loan.

The 23-year-old missed a large slice of The Hornets' promotion campaign last season and has just one League Cup appearance this time around.

Watford boss Adrian Boothroyd is keen for Blizzard to play first-team football and has allowed him to join the promotion-chasing League Two outfit.

"Everything is being processed so I can't see there being any problems," said Stockport boss Jim Gannon.

"Unfortunately the lad had an illness which meant he missed a lot of football but he's fully-recovered now and he's a good Championship player.

"You've got to try to attract the best players possible and ask the question. Sometimes the answer's no but we're delighted that Dominic sees it as a great opportunity to get first-team football."
