Teymourian keen to shine
Andranik Teymourian says it was a big incentive to be the first Iranian to shine in England.
Bolton Wanderers midfielder Andranik Teymourian has stated it was a big incentive to be the first Iranian to succeed in England. The 23-year-old joined The Trotters last August from Abumuslim and following a slow start to life in the Premiership, is beginning to impress.
Teymourian could have stayed in his homeland, but was keen to make his mark in Europe, like many before him such as Ali Daei in Germany.
"I could have carried on playing in Iran, and there would not have been a problem. But I wanted to come over to Europe and show everyone what I could do," he stated.
"There are a few players from my country in Germany. But no one has really made it in England, which is a big incentive for me.
"Communication was very hard at first, but it has been getting better all the time. After five months, I can understand most of what is being said."
