Real unhappy with Van Bommel
Real Madrid have expressed their anger with Bayern Munich's Mark van Bommel.
Real Madrid have expressed their anger with Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel in the wake of gestures he made towards the crowd in Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash at the Bernabeu.Bayern were trailing 3-1 when van Bommel grabbed a late goal to keep the tie on a knife-edge going into the second leg.
But Real believe Van Bommel went too far in his celebrations and are reportedly keen for Uefa to take action and suspend him from playing in the return leg.
"There was no respect shown to the spectators and this has created a grave incident," said a club spokesman.
Real goalkeeper Iker Casillas has also condemned Van Bommel for the incident.
"You can do whatever you want in the dressing room, but you have to know how to behave on the pitch," he said.
Van Bommel has since apologised for making rude gestures towards the crowd, but he insists the reaction was sparked by previous run-ins with some Real players.
"I want to apologise to the Real supporters, I have got nothing against them, only against some of the players," he explained.
Van Bommel joined Bayern from Barcelona last summer.
