Tevez speaks out on Pardew

West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has revealed he never got on with Alan Pardew.

West Ham striker Carlos Tevez has revealed he never got on with former manager Alan Pardew.

Tevez is still waiting to score his first goal since joining The Hammers in August and had a difficult start at Upton Park compounded by the fact that he did not have a good relationship with Pardew.

The Argentinian forward could be set to face his former boss when West Ham play Charlton on Saturday in a relegation-battle at The Valley.

The Hammers and The Addicks are both in the Premiership drop zone on the same points heading into the encounter.

"I am not a controversial player and I do not desire to hear comments about bad luck," Tevez told the Daily Mail.

"But I am not the person responsible for our bad results. I never had a fluid relationship with Pardew.

"I don't know what his motives were but I think that he never had confidence in us.

"My impressions of Pardew are not positive. He did not really speak much with the players. With us he was a mute."

But Tevez reserves praise for present manager Alan Curbishley, who replaced Pardew at the helm following his departure in December, despite only winning one league game under his guidance.

"With Curbishley, I have more confidence. Physical problems are damaging my efforts each day. From the minute of my arrival in London I have never been at 100 per cent," he added.

"But the new coach is very close to the players and speaks with us all the time, he is not like Pardew."
