Struggling Borussia Monchengladbach will be without defender Filip Daems for the rest of the season.The 27-year-old Belgian has yet to play a game for the Foals this term after undergoing an operation on his heel in October.
After returning to training with the first-team squad he suffered more pain and an MRI scan on Thursday revealed an inflammation of the heel bone which will now require a further operation.
Better news for Gladbach boss Jos Luhukay is that German international striker Oliver Neuville is making good progress recovering from an adductor operation.
The 33-year-old is expected to return to first-team training within the next two weeks.
Gladbach, who are currently bottom of the Bundesliga table, continue their fight for survival with a home game against Werder Bremen on Sunday.
