League One round-up

Scunthorpe extended their lead at the top with victory over Crewe, as Yeovil were held.

Scunthorpe extended their lead at the top of League One to nine points with a 3-1 victory over Crewe, as Yeovil were held at Doncaster.

Luke Varney fired Crewe in front after 26 minutes at Gresty Road, but Billy Sharp (pictured) equalised just three minutes later.

Jermaine Beckford then gave The Iron the lead after 40 minutes, and Sharp kept up his rich vein of form with a second on 62 minutes.

Yeovil moved a point clear of Nottingham Forest in second but could not break down a resolute Doncaster side as their game at The Keepmoat Stadium finished goalless.

Oldham slumped to their fourth successive defeat as they lost 1-0 at home to Blackpool.

Andrew Morrell grabbed the crucial goal after 67 minutes to take The Seasiders to the brink of a play-off place.

Rotherham remain eight points adrift at the bottom after losing 2-1 to Swansea at Millmoor.

Pawel Abbott (20) and Lee Trundle (61) netted for The Swans, before Martin Woods scored a late consolation for Rotherham in stoppage time.
