Montella too pricey for Fulham

Fulham striker Vincenzo Montella's agent has confirmed the player will return to Roma.

Fulham striker Vincenzo Montella's agent has confirmed the player will return to Roma this summer.

Montella joined the Craven Cottage club on loan in January and has made a favourable impression despite taking time to acclimatise to the physical nature of the Premiership.

The Italy international has scored four goals already for Chris Coleman's team but that impressive start will not facilitate a switch to West London confirmed the player's agent Tullio Tinti.

"Montella will definitely go back," said Tinti. "Fulham cannot match his wage demands."

While Montella looks set for a return to Serie A, Tinti has rubbished suggestions he could be the subject of a swap deal for Milan's Filippo Inzaghi.

"Many stupid things are written," declared Tinti, who is also agent to Inzaghi. "This is one of many."
