Rijkaard: We've nothing to lose

Frank Rijkaard believes Barcelona will shatter Liverpool's dreams at Anfield.

Frank Rijkaard believes Barcelona will shatter Liverpool's dreams and remain on course to retain the UEFA Champions League trophy.

Barca are aiming to overturn a 2-1 deficit at Anfield and clinch a place in the quarter-finals.

Rijkaard insists his players will be lifted and not intimidated by the special Anfield atmosphere.

"Liverpool have a great crowd and we will be motivated by them," said the Dutch boss.

"It is a great opportunity for us to put things right from the first leg.

"We are playing away from our stadium and have nothing to lose.

"We will just go for it and see what happens. Some people may think Liverpool are already through and that takes the pressure off us.

"We have an excellent group of players and a team strong enough to spring a surprise."

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez believes Barca will field a three-pronged attack featuring Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi and Samuel Eto'o, but Rijkaard refused to give any clues of the system he will employ.

"It is great to play against a team whose manager already knows everything," he added.

"Maybe it is a way of hiding any anxiety he might have himself."

Messi agreed with his manager, insisting Barca can bounce back at Anfield.

"If I didn't think we could win this tie, then it wouldn't make sense for me to even turn up and play," said the winger.

"We know we can get the right result at Anfield.

"I believe in us, because very little time has passed since this same team won everything last season. The first leg really hurt us because we didn't feel as if we deserved it. but we will pull ourselves together and show why we are champions," he told the Daily Mirror.
