Mancini upset by Brazil snub

Alessandro Mancini is disappointed to miss out on a place in the Brazil squad.

Roma midfielder Alessandro Mancini has admitted his disappointment at missing out on a place in the Brazil squad.

Mancini was not included in Dunga's squad for upcoming friendlies against Chile and Ghana later this month, despite strong displays recently.

The 26-year-old was on the score sheet against Lyon in midweek, culminating a fine past three months for the midfielder.

However, Mancini was not rewarded with a call-up to the Brazil national team, although he still harbours hope for the future.

"I'm quietly disappointed," Mancini told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"The numbers are on my side and for this I thought I deserved a call-up, as do (Alexandre) Doni and (Rodrigo) Taddei.

"Let's hope someone talks about me to Dunga.

"It's true in my role there is Ronaldinho, but I can play on the right too.

"Anyway, my aim doesn't change. I'd like to be part of either the Copa America or the next World Cup."
