Motta makes Barca apology
Barcelona ace Thiago Motta has apologised for missing training.
Barcelona ace Thiago Motta has apologised for missing training and blamed a loss of confidence for his absence.Motta failed to turn up for training last Thursday without permission ahead of the game with Real Madrid.
Barca coach Frank Rijkaard gave Motta a few days off to get himself together and the Brazilian-born midfielder has now returned to the fold at Camp Nou.
"I let a lot of people down," said Motta.
"It was a moment of weakness and I would like to apologise to the fans, my team-mates and the coach.
"I wasn't having a depression, it wasn't as serious as that, but things weren't going right.
"I wasn't enjoying playing so much, I didn't feel good and I didn't know what to do. In the end I made the worst decision of all and that was to miss training."
Motta was heavily criticised for his performance in the Champions League defeat to Liverpool last month and he admits the criticism hit his confidence.
"I lost my confidence and reached the point where I felt that I wasn't cut out for this," added Motta.
"I accept criticism, but I honestly believe that some people are being criticised more than others and I don't know why.
"I want to change so that I can stay here for many years to come. I want to show that I am capable of playing for Barcelona."
