Cross exits Cobblers

Scott Cross has had his contract at Northampton cancelled.

The young striker, who scored twice on his debut in 2005, has not figured for Northampton this term.

The 19-year-old has been allowed to leave Sixfields as he does not figure in boss Stuart Gray's plans.

"Scott has left us and we wish him the very best for his future," said Gray.

"He has had a few injury problems this season which have made things difficult at times but I'd like to thank him for all his efforts."
