Griffiths set for exit

Brentford defender Adam Griffiths is expected to sign for Australian side Newcastle Jets.

Brentford defender Adam Griffiths is expected to be released from his contract this week to allow him to sign for Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets.

The 27-year-old, who moved to Griffin Park from Bournemouth last season, has had limited first-team opportunities this term after falling behind Andy Frampton in the pecking order.

Griffiths is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and is known to favour a return to his native Australia.

Brentford have the option to offer an additional year on his deal but it is expected that as he now appears to be surplus to requirements with the Bees, he will be allowed to sign for the Jets within the next few days.
