Sibierski in City attack

Antoine Sibierski has launched a scathing attack on his former club Manchester City.

Newcastle's Antoine Sibierski has launched a scathing attack on his former club Manchester City.

The French midfielder come striker, left The City of Manchester Stadium for St James' Park last August and he had enjoyed a tremendous season on Tyneside.

Sibierski, though, has rounded on his former club and particularly Richard Dunne - who questioned the attitude of some of the club's foreign players.

"Richard Dunne blamed foreigners, I am a foreigner. When I heard I texted him and said: 'Did you say the same thing when I was at the club'," Sibierski told the Daily Express.

"He said 'No, you got involved, I didn't mean you. It's just about this year'.

"He said it was just certain players but he didn't tell me who. It's not the case for all foreigners, I know some like Ousmane Dabo who are very, very honest.

"Am I surprised they are struggling? Yes and no. No because over the last two or three years we could feel it coming. But yes because they have enough quality to stay in the Premiership.

"I could feel it going downhill, we had quality but when you don't play as a unit and a team - you can lose to anyone.

"It was difficult to play for City because there were big expectations from the fans.

"We could feel that and you have to deal with that but, as a Manchester City player, it's difficult to play at home.

"I don't know if there is a losing mentality there because they have a strong manager with a strong character, but sometimes it was difficult to play.

"It wasn't because of the manager, even if I didn't agree with him for many reasons."
