Rovers admit Price fears
Sean O'Driscoll has admitted Jason Price could be sidelined for up to nine months.
Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll has admitted Jason Price could be sidelined for up to nine months after suffering a serious Achilles injury against Bristol Rovers on Sunday. The midfielder was forced off after an hour as his side claimed a 3-2 extra-time victory in the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
He had missed Doncaster's three previous matches to the final with an Achilles problem, and his determination to play in the Millennium Stadium showpiece saw him rupture the tendon.
O'Driscoill said: "He has ruptured his Achilles. It looks likely that could be his season over."
It was immediately feared that Price had suffered a serious injury and O'Driscoll has now been informed he could be out for the rest of 2007.
"That is an initial diagnosis, but the timescale you are looking at for that injury is six to nine months," he explained.
"It sounds a lot, but that is what I have been told by the physio."
