Injury blow for Bochum

Bochum will be without defender Martin Meichelbeck fort he next six weeks.

The 30-year-old stopper damaged ankle ligaments in Sunday's 2-0 home win over Hannover and is now expected to be sidelined until mid-May, the Ruhr Valley club revealed on Monday.

The news is a bitter blow to Bochum coach Marcel Koller as improved recent form has given the club hoping of avoiding the drop.

Sunday's victory took Bochum out of the Bundesliga relegation zone, although they remain in acute danger with just 30 points from 27 games this season.
