Bayern Munich defender Willy Sagnol has confirmed he will be out of action for over three months through injury.

Sagnol suffered a serious knee injury during Bayern's 2-2 draw with Milan in the UEFA Champions League last week.

The French international is hoping to recover in time for pre-season training in the summer.

‚Ç£I will face a three-and-a-half month unavailability,‚Ç¥ Sagnol told Bayern's official website.

‚Ç£I want to be fresh in order to start well the next season.‚Ç¥

Sagnol will miss the end of the season with the German giants and France's two Euro 2008 qualifiers against Ukraine and Georgia in June.
