Lucarelli to leave Livorno

Cristiano Lucarelli has confirmed that he will leave Livorno at the end of the season.

Livorno captain Cristiano Lucarelli has confirmed that he will leave the Tuscan side during the summer.

The striker has been involved in a spat with president Aldo Spinelli recently but his decision was confirmed after the side were subject to strong criticism from fans following a 1-1 draw with Reggina on Sunday.

Lucarelli - who was Serie A's top scorer in the 2004/2005 season - scored Livorno's opening goal but fans were angered at the team's performance and made their feelings clear at Armando Picchi.

Now the team's talisman has confirmed that he will seek a transfer in the summer.

"My experience here is ended," Lucarelli told the Italian press following the game.

"It is a shame to accuse the team of not working hard or to have fixed the match.

"Now I will do my duty until the end [of the season] but then you have to ask me nothing else.

"My experience here is ended."

Livorno supremo Spinelli has already conceded he will be prepared to sell Lucarelli if potential suitors meet a £6.4million price tag.
