Feyenoord behind Koeman

Feyenoord have handed a vote of confidence to coach Erwin Koeman.

Feyenoord have handed a vote of confidence to coach Erwin Koeman.

The Rotterdam giants have endured a season of frustration and after Koeman was not present at training on Monday, speculation suggested his position was under threat.

The club have moved swiftly to nip the speculation in the bud by handing Koeman their unequivocal support.

"We are 100 per cent behind him," Feyenoord financial director Onno Jacobs told ADO Sportwereld.

"He is and stays this season and also the coming two years as our coach.

"He still makes a positive impression on us. Our belief in Koeman hasn't disappeared.

"We have to radiate rest and trust together at Feyenoord. There is still plenty for us to achieve this season."

Feyenoord, meanwhile, are being linked with a move for Kevin Hofland.

Dutch media reports claimed the Kuip club posted scouts to watch the former PSV Eindhoven defender in action for Vfl Wolfsburg against Mainz and could make a move in the summer.
