Chelsea anger at cup allocation

Chelsea are 'very disappointed' at the size of their allocation for the FA Cup final.

Chelsea have revealed they are 'very disappointed' at the size of their allocation for the FA Cup Final.

The Blues will meet Manchester United in the first final to be staged at the new Wembley on 19th May.

Despite the 90,000 capacity at the new home of English football, the two clubs will receive just 25,000 tickets each and Chelsea have wasted little time in declaring their discontent at their allocation.

"At a meeting Chelsea FC was advised by the Football Association of the allocation to the clubs for the FA Cup Final at Wembley," read a club statement.

"We were very disappointed to receive this news as many of our regular fans will now miss out on a great day for both clubs."

The allocation for each club is an increase of 1,500 each compared to last season's final at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium - although the Welsh venue only has a capacity of 74,500.

In contrast, at the Carling Cup final 82% of tickets go to fans (59,000 of 72,000) whereas at the FA Cup final only 56% go to fans (50,000 of 90,000).
