Schroth agrees 1860 return
Markus Schroth has signed a contract with his former club 1860 Munich
FC Nurnberg striker Markus Schroth has confirmed he has signed a contract with his former club 1860 Munich.
Just hours after helping Nurnberg reach the DFB Cup final, Schroth announced that he would be ending his career with the Lions.
The 32-year-old, who played for 1860 between 1998 and 2004, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal which also includes the guarantee of a job at the club after he hangs up his boots.
"1860 is a matter of the heart for me," Schroth commented.
"I want to play my part in helping the club into a successful future."
1860 coach Marco Kurz expressed his delight at the capture and said: "He is an excellent striker with great experience and leadership qualities on the pitch."
