Foy leaves Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe United have released Robbie Foy after less than a season at the club.

Scunthorpe United have released Robbie Foy after less than a season at the club.

Foy joined The Iron in September after shining on trial following his release by Premiership giants Liverpool.

He was signed by Brian Laws, but struggled to make an impression under the former Scunthorpe boss, and his successor Nigel Adkins (pictured).

The midfielder had started just one League One game this term, while his only goal came in the Football League Trophy against Bradford City.

The 21-year-old has now had his contract cancelled by Scunthorpe by mutual consent to give him time to find a new club for next season.
