Garry O'Connor is keen to secure a move to Birmingham after they tabled a bid for his services.

Birmingham have tabled a bid for the Lokomotiv Moscow striker which is being considered by the Russian club.

Blues boss Steve Bruce is determined to bolster his attack as he prepares for life back in the top flight and he believes O'Connor will be valuable addition to his squad.

O'Connor's agent Rudi Vata is hopeful a deal can be concluded quickly and that the Scottish international is excited about a move to St Andrews.

"Birmingham have put in a bid which has been accepted," Vata told skysports.com.

"It is now down to just deciding how the fee is paid and I am hoping it could be done soon.

"Other clubs have shown an interest in Garry, but Birmingham are the only club to make a concrete offer.

"Birmingham is a good option for him and Garry has made up his mind to leave Russia and go back to Britain.

"Birmingham are a big club and the Premier League is the best league in the world.

"Garry is keen to return to Britain to be close to his family and we are hoping to begin talks with Steve Bruce soon."

O'Connor confirmed he was keen to make the move to Birmingham.

"I hope (Birmingham) will make a new offer and they will be ready to pay all the money at once," O'Connor told the Russian media.

"I hope I will move to England this summer."
