Werder plan to keep Borowski

Werder Bremen are keen to keep Germany international Tim Borowski at the club.

Werder Bremen are keen to keep Germany international Tim Borowski at the Weser-Stadion and have started talks about a new contract for the midfielder.

Borowski, who has only 12 months left on his current contract with Werder, had recently been linked with a number of clubs, including big-spending Bayern Munich.

Bremen's director of sport Klaus Allofs now wants to make sure that the versatile midfielder pens a new deal at the Uefa Cup semi-finalists.

‚Ç£We have already spoken to his agent and are keen to reach an agreement in the near future,‚Ç¥ Allofs told Bild.

Bremen are believed to have offered Borowski a new four-year contract which would make him one of Werder's highest paid players.
