Samp cancel Flachi's contract

Sampdoria have cancelled the contract of Francesco Flachi as a result of his drugs ban.

Flachi was suspended after failing a drugs test in January.

The striker was originally banned for 16 months for the offence, but his suspension was increased to two years after he failed in an appeal.

Samp's sporting director Beppe Marotta confirmed the club had decided to annul Flachi's contract

"Francesco has played for us for eight seasons, but this was something we had to do," announced Marotta.
