Cardiff City boss Dave Jones is hoping to sign at least two more new players.
Dave Jones is hoping to sign at least two more new players before Cardiff City head off on a pre-season trip to Portugal.The Championship club have already signed Tony Capaldi, Steven MacLean and Gavin Rae, but Jones wants further additions.
He is determined to build a squad with greater depth for the new season and outlined his intentions for the next week.
"We've brought in Tony Capaldi from Plymouth, Gavin Rae from Glasgow Rangers and Steven MacLean from Sheffield Wednesday," Jones told Sky Sports News.
"We're looking to build, we've one or two trialists in and I'm hoping to bring in two or three more players before we actually get away on our pre-season tour to Portugal."
Jones also outlined the club's desire to arrange a new contract for midfielder Stephen McPhail, who has two years still to run on his existing arrangement.
He added: "He's under contract for another couple of years and we want to extend that, we want him to stay for even longer.
"It's a reward for last year. That will be ongoing and we hope it will be all sorted before we kick the season off against Stoke City."
