Offers made for Drenthe
A number of 'big clubs' have made offers for Dutch starlet Royston Drenthe.
Feyenoord have confirmed that a number of 'big clubs' have made offers for the highly-rated Royston Drenthe. The 20-year-old was the star of the recent European Under-21 Championship and was voted Player of the Tournament.
Europe's elite clubs have taken notice, with the respective press in England and Spain, claiming Chelsea and Real Madrid were leading the chase for his signature.
Now Feyenoord have confirmed that a number of top clubs - including Real, have indeed made contact.
Drenthe is under contract at De Kuip for another four-years - but it seems likely that the Rotterdam-born starlet will be moving on.
"Big clubs have got concrete interest in him, among those is Real Madrid," Feyenoord technical director Peter Bosz told Sportweek.
"We will watch and wait with Royston and see when he is back from holiday. We would like to keep him."
Drenthe's agent Andrew Wasiman, added: "There are top-clubs that want him.
"We are not forced to act on anything, because he still has a contract at Feyenoord.
"As soon as Royston is back we will look at the possibilities."
Meanwhile, Feyenoord are already looking at possible replacements and one of those could be Karim El Ahmadi.
However, Twente - who have just completed the signing of Slovakian starlet Andrej Rendla - are not keen to let the Moroccan leave.
