Rotherham secure Holmes

Rotherham have bolstered their attack with the signing of Derek Holmes.

Rotherham boss Mark Robins has bolstered his attacking options with the signing of Derek Holmes.

The former Carlisle striker has been brought in on a free transfer after being released at the end of last season.

The Scotsman managed just five goals in last season's campaign for the Cumbrians.

Holmes has agreed a two-year contract with Rotherham and becomes their ninth signing of the season.

A statement from Rotherham's website said: "He is a strong, determined centre-forward, his knock downs and flicks bring results for himself and other forwards.

"He is a handful for any defence."
