The stadium

England will play their second group game against Sweden in Kiev at the Ukraine national team's home stadium. The arena, which was formerly the Red Stadium of Lev Trotsky, has been rebuilt for Euro 2012 and has a capacity of 60,000. The stadium's roof has been restructured so it covers all spectator seats. Dynamo Kiev call the ground their home at club level. England will also play a quarter-final at the Olympic Stadium, which contains a running track, if they win Group D.

The Fan Zone

Independence Square is to be found in the heart of Kiev and can hold up to 70,000 people. The Fan Zone is fully catered for food and drink and is free to enter. Four giant television screens will show all the matches at Euro 2012.

The City

The capital and largest city in Ukraine, Kiev has two airports which offer flights to many venues around the world. It is unsurprisingly the heartbeat of the country and there is plenty to see and do for tourists. St Sophia Cathedral is one of the spots for a piece of sightseeing and it is also worth visiting Khreshchatyk street. The road runs through the city and the architecture has been impressively rebuilt since being demolished in World War II. For keep-fit fanatics, try visiting Hydropark's free outdoor gym. It contains equipment made from scrap metal.
