Halmosi a happy Pilgrim

Peter Halmosi has spoken of his excitement at joining Plymouth on a permanent basis, with the Hungarian already eyeing football at a higher level.

The talented midfielder completed a move to the Championship club upon the close of last season, following what was a hugely impressive loan spell from Debrecen.

Halmosi quickly established himself as a Home Park favourite and also curried plenty of praise from his manager Ian Holloway, who is confident the wide man's acquisition will prove to be an astute piece of business.

And it would appear that Halmosi is equally delighted at finalising his permanent move to Plymouth.

"At the last game of the season the fans demanded that the club should sign me," Halmosi told origo.hu.

"I am proud that I am the most expensive player of an English team. I am not sure that last year I would have been able to sign to a club which has the quality of Plymouth, but since then many things have happened, so I had to step forward for the good of my career.

"I thought I cannot play my best football in Hungary so I decided to change.

"Though the atmosphere and the possibilities in Debrecen are very good, I play in a better team and better league where everything is more professional.

"I think I would be able to play at a higher level too, so someday I want to make another step. But I know that a Hungarian footballer cannot be choosy.

"I have favourite countries and a favoured playing style, though I feel good here too and think that I can keep my place here."
