Cisse heads to Turkey

PSG midfielder Edouard Cisse has joined Besiktas for ?2million (£1.35million).

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Edouard Cisse has joined Besiktas for ?2million.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Turkish giants, ending a 10-year association with PSG.

Cisse had spells out on loan at Rennes, West Ham and Monaco, but has now joined Besiktas permanently in a ?2m (£1.35m) deal.

The Frenchman, who has spoken of his excitement to be joining one of Turkey's top clubs, expects a tough season.

"It is a very young team that has very good intentions and enthusiasm," he told Football365. "There are a lot of jokers so the atmosphere is nice.

"But there is no need to talk before because you can have the best team in the world, yet you have to prove your worth on the pitch.

"Last season, the league was disputed and you could win or lose against anybody. I think it will be the same this year.

"We will have to be serious and not think that we will win because we are Besiktas. We have to work and show who we are."
