QPR turn down new Cook bid

Fulham have failed in a fresh bid to sign Queens Park Rangers winger Lee Cook.

Fulham have failed in a fresh bid to sign Queens Park Rangers winger Lee Cook.

QPR knocked back an approach from their West London rivals last month and have now turned down a £1.5million offer.

R's chairman Gianni Paladini, who is waiting to finalise a deal for Derby goalkeeper Lee Camp, insists Fulham will have to significantly up their bid, if they want to lure Cook away from Loftus Road.

"He's got a two-year contract and he's a QPR player - end of story," Paladini told BBC London 94.9.

"I think he would be a bit offended if someone valued him at £1.5m. He's a QPR player and unless we get a decent deal he's going nowhere and he knows that.

"I told them if they have £6m for Diomansy Kamara they need to find a bit more for Cook.

"There's no way he's going for £1.5m. I just want to assure the fans."

Meanwhile, Fulham keeper Ricardo Batista has signed a new two-year contract at Craven Cottage.

Batista, who spent most of last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, has made just one senior appearance for Fulham, but has accepted a deal to stay until 2009.
