Robson 'hopeful' over Gravesen

Bryan Robson is optimistic about securing top target Thomas Gravesen.

Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson remains hopeful of securing his top summer transfer target Thomas Gravesen.

The Bramall Lane boss has made his interest in the Celtic midfielder clear, but Gravesen's agent has said that the player does not want to join the Championship side.

Gravesen, who has had previous spells at Everton and Real Madrid, has struggled for form in Scotland and he is said to want to stay and fight for a Celtic first-team place.

However, Robson remains undeterred and is optimistic the 31-year-old will choose to move to The Blades as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

"I haven't seen what his [Gravesen's] agent has been saying," Robson told the Sheffield Star.

"We have had discussions with Celtic and we have made them what we consider to be a good offer for their player.

"Both Thomas and Celtic know what the situation is and it's now up to them and the player to decide if they want to accept.

"I am still hopeful of bringing Thomas here."
