Hitzfeld: Ribery almost perfect
Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld hailed new signing Franck Ribery.
Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld hailed new signing Franck Ribery as 'almost perfect' after his side cruised into the semi-final of the German League Cup with a 4-1 win over Werder Bremen.
The France international, who cost Bayern a Bundesliga record of é¼25million (£16.8m) this summer, crowned an impressive debut by scoring twice to defeat Cup holders Werder.
"Ribery is a top recruitment and he will be an attraction for the whole Bundesliga," said Hitzfeld.
"Technically he is almost perfect, he loves to run and has a lion's heart, you have to stop him from doing too much rather than motivating him."
Bayern had to come from a goal behind to secure the victory after an early Tim Borowski strike had given Werder the lead.
However, goals from Bastian Schweinsteiger and new signing Hamit Altintop gave Bayern the lead.
Ribery then scored his first from close range before half-time and he added a second after the interval with a well taken penalty to secure the win.
Bayern will now travel to Bundesliga champions VFB Stuttgart for Tuesday's semi-final.
