"When you look at the manager, the players and the stadium they have, you can see why I did."
Nani hopes to emulate Ronaldo's success at Old Trafford, having seen him rapidly improve under Ferguson.
He added: "You look at the way Cristiano has grown as a player under Sir Alex Ferguson. That is what I want to happen to me. To play next to him is like a dream for me."
Meanwhile, defender Rio Ferdinand admits he cannot help but see similarities between Ronaldo and Nani.
"Nani does remind me of a young Ronaldo," Ferdinand told MUTV. "I hope that won't be a burden for him - I am sure it won't be.
"He has looked very sharp in training so far. He has played some great football in Portugal for the last few years and hopefully he can bring that to our club."
