Ronaldinho likes Lampard
Ronaldinho admits he would like Frank Lampard to join him at Barcelona.
Ronaldinho has admitted he would like Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard to join him at Barcelona.
The Brazilian playmaker has revealed his desire for Lampard to swap Stamford Bridge for Spain.
"He's a great player and he has shown that at Chelsea," said Ronaldinho, who is currently on a Barcelona pre-season tour of Scotland.
"Obviously I would like to have him at Barcelona, the same way that I would like any great player there."
Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard has echoed Ronaldinho's opinion of Lampard, who has two years to run on his current Chelsea contract, but the Dutchman also says that seeing the pair together in the Nou Camp midfield is unlikely.
"I won't go into it personally, but what Ronaldinho says makes sense and everybody would say that," said Rijkaard.
"But it is just a remark being made about a good player like Lampard.
"I don't want to enter into details because tomorrow we will have it all over the papers that we are working on Lampard and that is not true.
"We are working right now with the players that we have and we have to respect other players and the teams that they are playing for at the moment.
"It is not my way to talk about other players but we all know that he is a great player."
Ronaldinho has also said that he made the correct decision in turning down Manchester United to move to Barcelona from Paris Saint Germain in 2003.
"Before I moved to Barcelona I had a chance to go to Manchester United but I made a good decision and I am happy here," Ronaldinho concluded.
