Chester bring in Grant

Former Everton midfielder Tony Grant has joined Chester on a one-year deal.

Grant has been looking for a new club since being released by Accrington Stanley at the end of last season.

He has been on trial since with Chester and has impressed manager Bobby Williamson.

A statement on the club's official website confirmed: "Chester City have completed the signing of trialist Tony Grant in a move that will see him tied to City for the next year.

"His experience will add quality to the midfield."

Since ending a six-year stint at Everton in 1999, Grant has played for six clubs including Manchester City and Burnley.
