Pilgrims to look at McVeigh

Plymouth have invited Northern Ireland international Paul McVeigh for a trial.

McVeigh is looking for a new club after being released by Norwich at the end of last season.

The 29-year-old had a spell on loan at Burnley last term, but he did not make the move to Turf Moor permanent.

Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway is an admirer of McVeigh and will cast an eye over him in training next week before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest in the striker

"He's an honest, hard-working lad, who might do a dual role if we have injuries, and I want to have a good look at him," Holloway told the club's official website.
