Carey impressed by trialist

Brian Carey has hinted trialist Kaid Mohamed could be offered a contract by Wrexham.

Wrexham manager Brian Carey has hinted trialist Kaid Mohamed could be offered a contract by the club, but the League Two outfit face competition from Swindon.

Mohamed has impressed during his time with The Dragons, with the 22-year-old scoring three goals in four pre-season matches and it is such form that has prompted interest from Swindon - who have offered the player a one-game trial.

He bagged a brace in Wrexham's 4-1 win over Dungannon Swifts on Saturday, and could be about to be handed a deal.

Carey has suggested a full-time contract could be on the table for Mohamed within the next seven days.

"Kaid is a different sort of player from the other strikers we have and he's got an eye for goal, so we'll make an assessment about him next week," Carey (pictured) told The Daily Post.

However, the player's agent, Paul Mohamed has told skysports.com that his client will play for Swindon against Bristol City on Tuesday before making any decision on his future.

"International clearance has been passed for Kaid to play for Swindon on Tuesday," he told skysports.com.

"Obviously it was an opportunity too good to resist so Kaid will play for Swindon and then we can take it from there."
