Defender agrees two-year deal
Brazilian defender Dennis Souza has become Barnsley's ninth signing of the summer.
Souza has been on trial with the Championship club and has featured in three pre-season friendlies.
His performances have been strong enough to warrant a two-year contract with Barnsley after spending last season with Charleroi in Belgium.
The 26-year-old has played for several clubs in Belgium and Tykes boss Simon Davey is happy with the latest addition to his squad.
"After watching Dennis in Belgium, we invited him over for pre-season and he has impressed in his short time with us," Davey told the club's official website.
"We are delighted that we have been able to complete the deal and look forward to working with him for the next two seasons."
Subject to receiving international clearance, Souza could make his debut for Barnsley against Coventry City on 11th August.
